**Ubuntu Server WireGuard Setup**

1.  update and install

```
sudo apt update
sudo apt install -y wireguard
```

2.  validate that its installed

```
wg --version
```

3.  WireGuard configs live here:

```
/etc/wireguard/
```

Filename must NOT match the interface name

```

I made a blank file and will copy and paste the data from the wireguard conf I have into the blank one I created.

Set permissions

```
sudo chmod 600 /etc/wireguard/wg0.conf
```

Bring up WireGuard

```
sudo wg-quick up wg0
```

Validate

```
sudo wg
```

Can enable at boot if that is your bag

```
sudo systemctl enable wg-quick@wg0
```
